SESSION 1

Theory: Basic concepts in statistics, Measurement and Levels of measurements,

Training: Getting familiarised with SPSS.

SESSION 2

Training: Data entry: Methods and guidelines ,

 Training: Data manipulation: Editing, Splitting, Selecting, Merging etc.

SESSION 3

Theory: Descriptive statistics (Basic concepts), Training: Descriptive statistics (Procedures in SPSS) , Training: Graphical presentation of Data.

SESSION 4

Theory: Inferential statistics, Level of significance, df, Type I and Type II error, Normal Curve , Fundamentals of z distribution, 

Training: Testing distribution characteristics of the data (Normal distribution).

SESSION 5

Theory: Correlation analysis and Chi-square test (Basic concepts, Types and assumptions),

Training: Procedure, Assumptions, Interpretation.

SESSION 6

Theory: Linear Regression (Basic concepts, Types and assumptions), 

Training: Procedure, Assumptions, Interpretation.

SESSION 7

Theory: t test (Basic concepts, Types and assumptions),

Training: One sample test (Procedure, Assumptions, Interpretation).

Training: Independent sample t test (Procedure, Assumptions),

Training: Paired sample t test (Procedure, Assumptions, Interpretation).

Training: One way ANOVA, Factorial ANOVA (Procedure and interpretation).

Theory: Identifying statistics based on the hypothesis and nature of the variables.
